Ballou Justice Upton Architects in association with Cannon Design worked on the replacement facility for Western State Hospital. The facility is a two-story, 338,900 square foot building including 244 patient beds with support staff areas. Patient activity areas include a gymnasium, classrooms and game room. Clinical treatment spaces and facility support areas include a full kitchen, laundry and maintenance/wash bay.
The intent of the design of this facility is to provide a safe, secure, sustainable and pleasant place to live and work.
